How can we help?

Custom fields and groups

By default, NeetoCRM has system fields for various entities to help you manage your data. When you need to track something specific to your organization, you can add a custom field.

Custom fields can be organized into groups. Grouping related fields keeps a record's details page organized into collapsible sections instead of one long list.

Go to Admin panel -> Fields and groups to manage custom fields and groups for leads, deals, companies, contacts, or products. Each tab shows how many fields exist for that entity.

Adding a custom field

  1. Click on the Add new field button.

  1. Enter a Field name and select a Field type.

  1. (optional) Assign it to a Field group. Pick an existing group, or type a new name to create one on the fly.

  1. Enable Show at creation if you want this field to appear on the entity's creation form.

  1. Enable Is Required if the field must always be filled in. For lead and deal fields, you can then pick the pipeline stages where it becomes required under Required on stages.

  1. Click on Save changes.

The field appears within its group, or under Ungrouped in the admin panel.

Creating a field group

Groups let you cluster related fields together. For example, you could group a company's compliance fields — like Tax ID and Registration number — under a single Compliance group.

  1. Click on the Add new group button.

  1. Enter a Group name.

  1. Click on Save changes.

The new group becomes available the next time you add a field to that module. Renaming a group later does not move or change the fields inside it.

Managing fields within a group

On the Custom Fields & Groups page, click the > (chevron) icon to expand a group.

Use the three-dot menu on a group to rename it, add a field directly to it, reorder its fields, or delete it. Use the three-dot menu on a field to edit or delete it.

Reordering groups and fields

If you have more than one group, click on Reorder groups in the toolbar. Drag a group to its new position and click on Save changes. Groups always appear in this order on the entity's details page, with ungrouped fields shown last.

To reorder the fields inside a single group, open that group's three-dot menu and select Reorder Fields. This option only appears when the group has more than one field.

Deleting a field or group

Deleting a field is permanent. If the field already holds values on any records, NeetoCRM shows how many records will lose that value before you confirm.

Deleting a group does not delete its fields. Its fields move to Ungrouped instead, and no field or field value is lost.

Searching for fields and groups

Use the search box on the Fields and groups page to filter by field name. Only matching fields, and the groups they belong to, are shown.
