How can we help?

Base currency

Base currency sets the currency your organization sells in, and the format products, deals, quotes, and invoices use to display amounts.

The base currency applies to new products, deals, quotes, and invoices. Records that already exist keep the currency they were saved in and are never converted, even after you change the base currency.

Setting your base currency

  1. Go to Admin Panel.

  2. In General settings, click on Base currency.

  3. Select your currency from the Currency dropdown.

  4. Under Currency format, choose how amounts are shown: Show amounts with (symbol or code), Position (before or after the amount), Number format, and Decimal places.

  5. Check the preview to confirm the format looks right.

  6. Click on Save changes.

How the currency format works

The format you choose applies everywhere in NeetoCRM: product prices, deals, quotes, invoices, and reports.

What happens when you change the base currency

Changing the base currency only affects new records. Nothing that already exists is changed or converted.

For example, if you switch your base currency from USD to EUR, products you already have priced in USD stay priced in USD. Any new products you add from now on are priced in EUR, so your catalog ends up holding both currencies.

  • Deals, quotes, and invoices. New records are created in the base currency. Quotes and invoices you have already sent are never touched, so they always match what your customers received. A new quote or invoice can still pull in a product priced in the old currency, so add converted pricing for those products before you send anything new.

  • Reports. Each record is reported in the currency it was saved in. After you change the base currency, your reports can cover more than one currency.

  • Connected accounting. If you sync with QuickBooks, the base currency must match the home currency of the connected company, or the sync fails.
